Mountain Valley Sportsman's Association, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, is a growing club of enthusiastic sport shooters, devoted to the shooting sports. Our goal is to provide a SAFE, premiere facility for all shooters to enjoy their sports. Range hours are daylight only. No night shooting is allowed unless part of an organized match or otherwise approved by the board. Night is defined by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is the time period 30 minutes after sunsetto30minutesbeforesunrise.Locatedon88beautifullywoodedacresarethefollowing;Two (2) overlaying Trap and Skeet fields, a Cowboy Action "Town" complete with Western style buildings, 100, 200 and 300 yard rifle range with a 120' covered shooting area and 12 permanently mounted benches, a 5 station Covered bay 50 Yard pistol range, and an 8 bay Action Shooting range for IDPA, Multi-Gun, Rimfire, and Ladies On Target matches and other training classes.MVSA encouragesafamilyatmosphereandwelcomesvisitors,shooters and non-shooters alike. Visitors to the community are encouragedtocomeseeourfacilitiesandparticipateintheevents.

Mission StatementThe mission of this organization shall be the encouragement of sport shooting among the citizens of the UNITED STATES who are resident in our community. With a view toward a better knowledge on the part of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship. It shall be our further mission and purpose to encourage the development of those characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance which are the essentials of good sportsmanship, and the foundation of true patriotism.

•Cowboys: Get ready for the Annual Shootin in the Shade this year it is scheduled September 2-3. We hope to have a great turnout. Contact Glenn Irvin if you would like to help with the event.•Trap & Skeet: Congratulations to our new Venue Chairman Rodger Cameron. Although he has been onboard a short period of time he has been successful at the installation of lights on the trap & skeet fields and setting up a third field for trap for the trap shooters. If you have any suggestions or would like to be an opener for the venue please contact Rodger. Check the calendar for open times.•Action Shooting: Come help us prepare for and manage the State IDPA match scheduled for May 19-20. We need people to help build the stages, run the match, and manage the scoring process. 3Gun Nation Club matches start back up in February. There are several special training opportunities also. Finally bring your kids/grandkids and come out to Appleseed. Lots going on check the calendar. Contact Randy Hitchcock or Ted Smethers for more information.•Ladies on Target and Shoot What You Carry:Great programs for new women shooters and concealed carry holders to maintain skill levels with guns they shoot. Contact Jerry Kalick for more information.•CMP: We have had a great year with the turnout at the monthly Military and CMP matches get ready for the Annual Battle of the Valley match which is scheduled for May 20,2017. The regular matches are held the third Saturday each month. Check the calendar.•Rifle/ Pistol: We have a couple new steel targets installed on the pistol range, check them out. We have had the steel targets on the rifle range rebuilt. Please be sure you are not shooting steel core ammo at the steel targets. Most of the low cost rifle ammo for sale is steel core with the brass coating on the bullet. Check it with a magnet before you shoot it at any steel targets. Please make sure you pick up your targets and any other trash before you leave the range. This is a volunteer range so help us keep it clean.
